What exactly can I do with it?
If anyone with a Google Account can sign in to Writely, does this mean I can sign in with my Gmail account?
Do I now need a Gmail account to log in?

What happens to my Writely login after I switch to a Google Account? Once you switch your Writely login to a Google Account, you should use your Google Account email and password to log in to Writely. If you try to use your old Writely login, you'll get a reminder message telling you to use your Google Account instead.
Eventually, your old Writely login information will be removed entirely and will no longer work. At that point, you’ll only be able to access your Writely documents by using your Google Account login. Note that your existing pages won’t be removed. Finally, if your browser is set up to automatically fill in your username and password, you may need to update it with your new login information. Check your specific browser settings to do this. Will I have to register with Google to use the site? We’re moving to a Google Account sign-in. We sent an email to Writely users a few days befor we made the change with instructions about migrating your account. Please note that you can sign up now for a Google Account using any email address - including your current Writely address.
A Google Account is made up of an email address and password of your choosing. Please note that if you already have a Gmail account, it comes with a built-in Google Account. You can merge your accounts by using your Gmail login when switching from your Writely login. |
